Snow!
Yes, true. A smattering but it stayed all day, even on the foredeck of the boat. What, you were on the foredeck again, MrP? For what? I’m glad you asked. The swapping over of chains. I’ve now got 45m new chain and 25m warp on my everyday anchor and 15m chain and 30m warp on the monster down below all ready for emergencies. And I inserted those neat little plastic coloured osculati markers. Took an age.
Home for a much needed soak in hot water. And then a sad email - Robin had passed away. I only got to visit him once at home but apparently his son brought him round the yard just over a week ago. He was the nicest of guys, so incredibly helpful and knowledgable. Fifty three years a member. What a bummer of a year; Jack, Ernie and now Robin all gone. George gives me a call and we chat awhile - I’m tasked with doing the flags first thing in the morning. Once this pandemic is all over we’ll need to have a huge social event for these guys.
