The gentleman

An anonymous gentleman, known only as JE, depicted on his gravestone in Inverboyndie Kirkyard. He has no name or date but was clearly well to do as indicated by this frock coat with large pockets, his wig and what may be a book and money bag in his hands. The reverse of the stone shows his death bed scene in which he lies in a 4 poster flanked by trumpet playing angels of the Ressurection whilst a winged soul represents his soul leaving his body.
