" Mystifying"

....This lovely fountain has recently been freshened up, and beautiful it is to us.

It is a replica of the original fountain which stood where this one stands now, just around the corner from us..

The original fountain was shifted approximately 150 years ago from this place to the town's main thoroughfare, due to a little child having been drowned in it - the son of the owner of the property..
The mother of the child couldn't bear to look at it - and so, it was shifted and this is the replica fountain, built a little later..
The other fountain is just as beautiful standing for almost as many years, in our main thoroughfare..

This is just some of the history surrounding this beautiful fountain, which stands on the original property of the Chaffey Brothers, vibrant pioneers of this district.

The water emanates from it every day, and the fountain stands regal at the entrance to the historical home the of the Chaffey Brothers, who lived there for many years..

The Brothers Chaffey, from Ontaria, Canada, were responsible for creating the Mildura Irrigation Colony, among other visionary concepts.. We are indeed indebted to them..
