My Hungarian Guard of Honour

These are my personal Hungarian guards of honour who are on duty protecting my person during the Festive period. Three more of their number are protecting my Advent candle against any rogues or ruffians entering the house against the rules.
The three stalwarts arranged on the cushion have an intimidating presence which appears to prevent any one sitting on their chair, while the wooden ones are just happy to be out of their box for a month.

I cocked a snoop at my local PO and the Royal Mail today because the shop doesn’t open until 11 am and then has a queue out of the door. Instead, I went to a little convenience store nearby at 8 am and sent off three parcels via Hermes with little fuss, at less cost and the probability that they will be delivered more quickly.

I managed to do some local shopping before delivering, rather late, 2 advent calendars to the Morningside pair who seem miffed that someone had given one to me but not to them, although they hadn’t understood it was my birthday present from Glasgow daughter. Still, if that keeps them happy for the next 3 weeks, all’s well and good.

It was a very nice sunny day and not cold, although I’m hunkered down now with a forecast of some snow later tonight. We haven’t seen snow for a while.
