Clay Artisan
This is Mike J. He is in WAM; my Wednesday morning ceramics class. He has been doing it for many years, which means he makes mah-velous pieces.
This lidded pot is the piece he will be donating to our semester end fund-raising sale. Every semester each student in the ceramics classes is required to donate one finished article, so we can help defray the costs of using the kilns, buying glazes and other needed equipment.
He wouldn't smile for this one shot, and darned if he didn't start to blink as I took the foto. It is what it is.
Today we made 13 x 13 x 5 cm (5 x 5 x 2 in) square slab sushi plates (or they can be used as spoon rests). Now they will dry until next week's class.
