Heron In Hiding

It's been a beautiful, sunny day but it was sunset before I could go out for a walk with my camera. Still, I enjoyed my stroll by the lake, watching Canadian and greylag geese, cormorants and gulls. Just as I was about to leave, I spotted a heron. He spotted me, too, and only broke cover to make a hasty departure. Even though I didn't get a clear view, I quite liked that I captured him behind a screen of grasses with the colours of sunset reflecting on the water.
