Panto Week #5 - There is nothing like a dame

Second performance.

I had a full sofa day today in the hope I would feel better but I rather carelessly lost my voice!!!! I was very croaky when I arrived at church and with 2 minutes to "curtain" it disappeared completely. Help! I was sucking sweets and drinking water in the hope it would come back, which it did slightly. I added a line to my opening speech accusing the villagers of making me lose my voice just so the audience were primed. I managed my first two bits as they were quite short. My third scene is the Sheriff's main focus. Having had a slight rest it had returned a bit but as the scene went on it was fading. They could still hear me at the back which is the main thing, it's just a good job the scene wasn't any longer!!! The only bit I couldn't manage was the hearty evil laugh. I made it to the end ... just! I'm told I'm not allowed to talk until the show tomorrow night!

Apart from that everything went well .... except we had a tree growing in the nursery bedroom because they forgot to change the side panel! The audience weren't as lively but I know they will be for the next two nights!!!

Anyway, meet our Dame - Nurse Glenda Glucose. There is nothing like a dame ... and that's certainly true with ours!!! (S)he's great!

We're half way thr0ugh and all the hard work is paying off. Thanks for joining us through panto week. The series starts HERE!

I have backblipped yesterday's opening night.
