a lifetime burning

Its all downhill from here

... well strictly it's downstream, but as water doesn't flow uphill it amounts to much the same thing.

It is horrible out there - misty but not really foggy, and occasionally drizzly, with very poor light and a heavy cloud layer. So the light is just flat and uninspiring. In the circumstances this was the best I could manage - its a shot of the weir at Saltford Lock which at least had some good reflections of the shallows to add interest.

It rather looks as though I might have been paddling to take the shot, but the water is actually quite deep here so I was (very carefully Cathy) holding the camera out over the water while holding on to something sturdy.  The camera was on a wrist strap just in case the worst happened.  But fortunately there was no drama, and no officious person came and told me that I wasn't supposed to be standing there ;-)

The things we do to get a blip on a miserable day for photography!
