Beat the blues - with yellow
We drove to the coast, about 30 minutes away, for a 5 mile walk. After parking at Boulmer we headed north. We could see Dunstanburgh Castle in the distance. Howick Hall wasn’t visible though it isn’t far inland. It was the home of Earl Grey (tea and Prime Minister for 4 years from 1830).
We walked as far as The Bathing Hut, a holiday cottage for renting, at the little beach at Rumblin Kern, a place where, when the tide is right, people can jump down from the cliff into a kind of sea cave and swim through to the open water. I am never going to show Thomas and James this place as they would scare the life out of me.
This photo is looking south on our way back. I was surprised to see whins out at this time of year. I though they made a nice shot with the watery yellowish sky.
It is dark at 4pm now. Only 4 more nights with that awful generator pounding outside our bedroom. Only 9 more days till be are out of lockdown - then what? Our stats show Covid in our area is spreading from school children, going up a third this week. With schools open lockdown has had no effect in our area yet they say we’ll go into the highest level after 2 December. It appears families are allowed to meet for Xmas. Is it worth the risk with a vaccine not too far off?
