Still blooming
Usually by this time of the year the moonflower bush has started dying back and wilting but with the mild weather we have been having it has taken on a new growing spurt. There have been blooms opening every day this week. Plus there are still a few large buds that have not opened. When I looked closer I cannot find any places where any new bud growth is starting so apparently these colder nights have worked their magic and the plant knows that it does not have enough time to make a whole new flower.
Hopefully these two plants will come back up next spring. I am going to cut them back later but leave the roots in the ground to see what happens.
Plants always know what is the best thing to do for themselves.
