The paradise needs lots of water!
It's been raining in the Upcountry Maui constantly for days. I have never seen rain as wet, heavy and persistent in my life! That and the stormy winds keep us up at night. Well, it is Hawaiian winter after all but even to the locals, this much rain is somewhat unusual.
So today we headed south in search for some sun and heat and ended up on a beach in in Wailea. South Maui is like a completely different world, and only just over half an hour's drive away. Clear blue skies, about 76F temperature (whatever that is in the more familiar centigrade. It felt warm and pleasant enough), that customary Hawaii breeze that covers you in sand. After some hours (how many, we couldn't say. 2? 3? 5?) we headed for a curry in an Indian restaurant in Kihei another town not far off. I seem to have taken over the kitchen and cook breakfast and dinner whenever we're eating in, to the appreciation of my fellow travellers. But tonight was my 'nigh off' and we indulged in palak paneer, fish curry, mutter paneer, makhani dal, rice, chapattis...
Tomorrow, some more yoga, and then...who knows! The plan is not to plan.
