Steppin' up
No rain today so we headed over Blair Atholl and the Old Tilt Car Park.
Our first destination was the Balvenie Pillar on Tom na Croiche , which was up these step and a new addition to Atholl Estate Waymarked trails. The pillar marks the stop where the last person was hanged on the estate in 1630.
We then walked on up into Glen Tilt and came back via farm roads and St Bride's Church. I had been there before but had not gone into the church, on doing so we discovered that John Claverhouse, Viscount Dundee was interred there. He had been killed at the Battle of Killiekrankie.
A good morning's walking.
This was followed by pleasant afternoon doing not very much / as I pleased (the joys of retirement :-) )
This evening we will continue with West Wing - I'd forgotten just how good it is. However none of the story lines match the present saga in the Whitehouse.
