Jail House Dog...
Holiday at Loch Tay next week has been cancelled :-(
In light of yesterday's announcement that Perth and Kinross has been put up to level three, we had an email first thing this morning from the cottage owner asking if we wanted to go to another of their cottages, one that is inside the P&K boundary (the cottage we had booked lies right on the border of Perthshire and Stirling about 10 paces into the Stirling side) instead.
The alternative cottage is lovely but given that travel is restricted (I had hoped to go to Glencoe, Kinloch Rannoch and a few other places over the week), the weather forecast is rubbish and we prefer the location of the original cottage, we decided to postpone. Plus the cottage is quite expensive so it's a complete waste of money to go and just stay in all week. We can do that at home for free!
The owner was great, very accommodating and we have re-booked for April next year. Surely things will have improved by then?!!!
Our car was getting serviced at our local garage so David took Lola with him when he went to collect it. He'd forgotten how long it takes her to walk down the High Street as she sniffs every doorway and gate! He eventually made her walk on the outside of the pavement but of course she then stopped at every lamp post! lol
Car collects they went straight to the moor where they had a very wet walk. Lola got her housecoat on and was confined to barracks for a while when she returned.
David stopped at the butchers on his way home and picked up some delicious Italian meatballs for dinner and their festive food order form. I got quite down looking at all the lovely food designed for family gatherings as I'm just not sure that will be happening this year.
We normally have a quiet Christmas Day but lots of socialising for the rest of the time. Family and friends are usually here on Hogmanay then we have a a large family gathering on New Year's Day. Will be a miracle if that can happen this year I feel.
If it doesn't, we'll just have to make the best of it meanwhile I shall plan in the positive in the hope it does :-)
