Armistice Day 2020
There were about a dozen of us at the local Cenotaph to remember Armistice Day. The service was short in duration, starting with a 2 minute silence, then the reading of Laurence Binyon's poem "For the Fallen' the fourth stanza.
They shall grown not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, or the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
The NZ flag was lowered as the 'Last Post' was played, then raised to the 'Reveille'. (Extra 1) Extra 2 is a Remembrance Day Poppy.
After the service I went to Bremner Bay, spotted Piano Lady and The Tuner sitting on a seat. I joined them for a chat. While I was there I picked up a shopping bag of dry Pine cones.
I also moved the lawn, did some weed eating, plus stacked a bit of firewood. Still have a few more steps to do, so will get them done now. It is quite hot, +25C.
