Quandary

Here’s a cockatiel, blipped in the aviary in the local Lewisvale Park.

East Lothian Council has two public aviaries and it’s always nice to go and chat to the birds on my walk.

My quandary is that I am not sure birds (like animals) should be behind cages. That said, the birds are well looked after, with branches, loads of bird seed, millet, toys, water etc. They also have an indoors too, and I know that the gardeners check on them a few times a day. I understand also that they are mostly rescued birds.
