Spring preening.

The ducks on the pond all seemed very happy today, busy preening themselves in the sunshine. Quite a bit of chasing going on too!
Yes again a lovely Spring like day.

Called to see Tom, who doesn't seem to have got very far with repairing his greenhouse. Today he had the fire going, sterilising some soil, ready for making his potting compost for the Spring.
I wonder who else still does this? I would think 99% of nurseries buy it already mixed, in bags. No wonder his tomatoes always taste so good!!
( I remember a gardener on the radio saying many years ago,
if anything was wrong with your plants,
"The answer lies in the soil". Can't remember his name, but it was before most of you were born!!!
