Doggone .....

Or cow and calf gone to be precise !
A day spent tagging calves here and next door. The brass tags that have been plaguing this job for weeks are gone , eventually replaced by plastic button type tags. However the flag type primary tags got muddled up and to cut a long story short , the boss has f...ed up and tagged 10 calves with the wrong matching pairs. So will need to re order 10 tags and re tag these calves . Bugger. Going gaga in my old age.
Got on better this afternoon , all tags correct and only had to climb the walls a couple of times when cows took exception to me handling their babies . Staff kept well back and watched as usual .
The fog came back in this afternoon and it’s now like pea soup out there.
Put one cow and calf into this field with a few others that aren’t to get bulled again as she is down to only 2 working tits. She obviously didn’t like it much as she smashed out the fence to get back to where she came from. Mother and calf are now shut in a shed !
