A lunchtime wander to the woods at the top of the road, as per, and I spotted this beauty, which you wouldn't want to tangle with. Strange vertical out of focus highlights dead in the centre of the frame. I am thinking that it might be a tree. At least it's given me something to explore and investigate on tomorrow's lunchtime wander.

In the extra is a picture that tries to encapsulate the smell of the autumn woods. Chris Packham was interviewed on the Today programme on Radio 4 this morning and one thing he talked about was the smell of the humus in the autumn woodland, hence this photo.
