Friar’s Bay Steps

Lockdown 2, Day 4

I met Sandra for a bike ride this morning and for a change we cycled to Peacehaven and went along the Undercliff walk there. Unfortunately, it doesn’t join our Undercliff which is a shame, but in some respects it’s not a bad thing as it’s much quieter at Peacehaven. There aren’t any cafes and it’s two dead ends so it doesn’t attract the same amount of people.

We cycled about 8 miles in total and went right to the end of the Undercliff. It’s an interesting place and is actually a Geological site with some huge fossils which I’ve added to my extras, and these steps are carved into the cliffs!

On our way back, our ride involved cycling up a very steep incline so I turned Betsy’s power up to Turbo and off I went. A guy walking down commented that he was very impressed, and then when he saw Sandra struggling to get up, he told her to ‘come on’. She told him I’d got an electric bike, and he started laughing and said I hadn’t told him that! Anyway, she made it most of the way up before having to get off and push for the last bit.

My afternoon was spent putting my calendars together and doing everyone’s orders, and made a Sunday roast. Alan’s back is improving slightly, but he’s fed up that the weekend has passed and he’s not been able to do anything.
