Winter wash down....

A chilly but dry and sunny day until the fog came back in about 5 pm.
Once everything was fed, brought the grain dryer down the yard and power washed it ready to put away for the winter. Fired up the burner and left it running to dry everything out then parked it in the shed.
The knackeries in to shoot the cow that had a bad calving ten days ago. She had got to her feet and we twinned a calf on to her, but unfortunately she went down again and has been like that for the last week. The calf is now on its 3rd mother , so fingers crossed it’s 3rd time lucky . The reality of life and death on a farm and in nature isn’t for the faint hearted sometimes. Ho hum.
