Me and my hoss (Day 2008)

The plan this morning was to get another few bits done on the log burner install at home. By the time my beautiful wife's was home from her overnight shift at work, I was ready to do the scary bit on the roof.
I got the ladder organised, and even managed to get myself all the way up to the roof ridge, but then realised I couldn't go any further. I am just too terrified to be able to do anything at the top of a ladder. Especially not when it means getting off the ladder and climbing a chimney stack. Defeated, I returned to terra firma, where HV administered strong coffee.
After a suitable recovery period, HV and I made our way to Stromness to get a ride on George and Paddy. Unfortunately Paddy got a puncture just after leaving the field, so George and I carried on by ourselves. It was my first ride for a couple of weeks, and my first solo ride for a long time, and it was fantastic.
Back at the field, George stood and leant against me while HV finished up stuff with Paddy.
Home for lunch then a wander with the woofers along the rocky shore to Breckness. It was too warm for jackets.
We finished up the afternoon by moving the horse trailer to the shed and having a blether to S&A.
Tomorrow, I have someone coming to do the scary job I can't do.
