Peeking Parakeet

Birds always look a bit strange when photographed head on and this parakeet is no different. It was tucking into apples at Fishers Green. 

My extra is a gorgeous Anatolian Shepherd Dog called Ramo. It is unusual for Ollie dog to meet a dog that is bigger than she is. Shepherd dogs like Ramo and Ollie were bred not to herd sheep like sheep dogs do but to guard them. I saw a programme recently about Anatolian Shepherd Dogs being used in Namibia to protect flocks from cheetah attacks which means that the farmers don't feel the need shoot the endangered cheetahs.
