Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Another jumper

Up to the hospital again this morning to get the results of the MRI scan done in September. I had had to put off my followup appointment because of the surgery on my face.
I was rather pleased to hear both that I was not being a wimp about my sore knee but also that it was something which was not age related deterioration and could be repaired. I have a torn cartillage, most likely as a result of my fall when I was in India in February. It should be able to be fixed with keyhole surgery - there will be around six weeks recovery afterwards providing all goes well, but after that all should be well. I was delighted to hear that my left knee (and presumably the right one too) is in good condition with minimal wear and tear. Considering my poor fitness and the fact that I spent most of my working life on my knees I'm very pleased to hear it.
After lunch I met Katy and Isobel for an outdoor coffee in the local park. Isobel was delighted to show me another of the new jumpers that her 'parents' had bought her. She had such fun clambering, good to see her on her own for a change too and to realise just how she is growing up. We wandered around the woods at Ravelston too. A lovely, cold but sunny, day.
I managed to sort the database I was working on tonight and to write an accompanying piece to go with the Cursillo magazine.
Bridge this evening and then an early night I think.

Keep well and safe everybody whatever level you are at. We are getting there.... and we won't mention the election...
