Sally Mair - Loving life

All Souls

Today was a day of meetings and phone calls. A trustee meeting with training on governance first thing, I don't do first thing any more!
I then spent two hours on the phone being ignored by City of Edinburgh Council who have confused our church with the RC Church of a similar name. The outcome is that they have not charged us any council tax and have sent all the reminders to the other church. They in turn ignored them as they were already paying. We now end up with a penalty included in our bill and no way to talk to them on the phone. So I've emailed the council and copied in the local Councillors too. Real people are very sympathetic when we can get to talk to them.
I am sympathetic to the Covid delays and issues but not when it looks like costing us over £4000 until we can talk to somebody and explain what the confusion is... theirs` not ours'!
Fingers crossed it gets sorted. Our overdue refund from Scottish Power sounds like it may finally be on its way too after over 6 months of phonecalls and emails.
This afternoon we had our reunion group then, after dinner, it was off to church for our All Souls" service. We had around 20 there. The new heating system makes it very cosy. An atmospheric shot of the church is my main blip.

Steps today, 6500
