Pride Park

We went into Derby today to look at some cars we had shortlisted both as replacements for Lesley's and my car. It was very quiet and dealerships will all be closed during the shutdown so we have some thinking time.  Pride Park is made up of a number of office blocks and most of the main car dealerships. It also houses the football ground and a big circular golden yellow building, Derby Arena / Velodrome. The velodrome is owned and run by the council since it opened in 2015 in a blaze of optimism and at a cost of millions. However promises each year to turn a profit never materialise and ideas on how it can be utilised for events other than a few cyclists never seem to work. It's a shame but it's a burden to the taxpayer that stands out as a very expensive luxury.
