let there be light

Ah, it was so nice to wake up to sunshine today due to changing our clocks back to Standard Time. But I'm sure I'll bemoan the fact that now it will be darker sooner, too. 
I was happy to see this Red-shafted Northern Flicker on my walk this morning. I'm still trying to capture one in flight, flashing the red undersides of its wings. It's always good to have a goal!
