Blowing in the Wind

Another dull day, rain this afternoon and very strong winds are building for this evening. The mono photo is of my pony tail grasses blowing in the wind. A day of paperwork before the Strictly results show tonight, I thoroughly enjoyed the show yesterday. So disappointed by the Spitting Image show last night, it was very poor.

Day 231 / Day 19 of The 3 Tiers (for my record only)
UK deaths up 162 to 46,717 (revised basis), with  23,254 new daily cases, 10,918 patients in hospital and 978 in ventilator beds. The US is seeing very high daily numbers again with 86,293 new cases yesterday and 914 deaths. The top story today appears to be Gove saying that the lockdown announced yesterday could be extended - not sure why this is the headline as surely it's obvious that unless the prevalence has gone down quite a bit, then all we'd have done is press the pause button on the horrific projections. There's one point I found interesting last night. I'd picked up that Boris referred to the clinically vulnerable and those over 60 but looked very uncomfortable when saying this. I looked at the Govt website last night and it now defines the clinically vulnerable as being those over 60 (regardless of medical conditions); under 60 with an underlying health condition (they list several and include those with a BMI over 40) and say that is, anyone instructed to get a flu jab each year on medical grounds; and pregnant women. They have to be 'especially careful' and should minimise contact with others. There is also the clinically extremely vulnerable who will be written to by the Govt, but have been told not to go into work - full guidance on this is to be given tomorrow, but I can see this becoming significant. More problems with the NHS app which, due to incorrect settings, hasn't been sending alerts about potential exposure when it should to prompt  self isolatation, it particularly affects those with android devices. Police disperse c300 people from an illegal Halloween rave at Wigan, and up to 700 at an illegal rave near Bristol - both involved violence against the Police. TfL has been given a £1.8bn Govt bailout.
