Not a Pumpkin

I was impressed - and a little surprised - to find these coloured cauliflowers in the 'local produce' section of our local garden centre this past week.

I recall seeing plenty of cauliflowers like this in the local markets when visiting my brother when he lived in France. I'm hoping that they will become a regular feature of the produce section here.

We ate the orange one today: 10 minutes in the microwave, then doused in a vegan cheese sauce with fresh herbs from our back garden. It was delicious.

We plan to tackle the purple one over the next couple of days. My other brother has already made the comment that if we serve that in a similar fashion, the result could well end up looking a little like Van Gogh's The Starry Night.
