Day 4

More aimless wanderings today, trying to keep Covid 19 thoughts away. 

After breakfast I headed for Lochindorb (Extra) up on Dava Moor, just a bit north of Grantown-on-Spey. The ruined castle is 13th century, and best known as the home base of the Wolf of Badenoch in the 14th century. 

It was cold up there, and rain seemed to be arriving, so I went north to try to avoid it. 

Next stop was the River Findhorn at Dulcie Bridge. It is a strange name in English, but makes sense when you can read the Gaelic name - Drochaid (“bridge”) Dhulfhasaidh. It is a simple transliteration. 

The river forces itself through a narrow gorge at that point, and the rapids are amazing. My Blip and Extra do not do the spectacle justice, and you need the roar as well.
