This Mercurial Weather!
Wow, but it rained today. And hailed. And then rained again, just to be sure. But we had booked entry to NT Dyrham Park and we are not put off by a bit of weather. Long coats and waterproof trousers and off we go.
I went with a view to maybe scoring a couple of rutting deer shots, but I suspect they've either culled the entire herd due to the lack of manpower during covid, or the deer have been moved off-site. Not a glimpse.
Still, the Sun came out and the skies cleared and we had a decent walk up and down the steep landscape. I caught this shot of Mercury atop the House and again was taken by the ability of the camera and lens.
He could have been in a museum a few feet from me... He was cleaned up a few years ago, and the overcast skies took a lavender hue in the low afternoon sunshine. This is a full frame aside form a small straightening crop.
As we left, the storm-clouds flew overhead with a drenching rain following us home, leaving Mercury to hurl his insults upwards. There's a clear advantage in having a chat with the Sun each morning over coffee...
