Not Quite Finished

I used this as one quarter of a montage yesterday but it needs more of an explanation. In recent years the First Poppy Laying in Falmouth has taken place at a small raised bed adjacent to the Municipal Buildings, this required stopping the traffic and speeding the service up.
We have also benefited from having an ex Royal Navy Shipmate as Mayor as was his predecessor. Both had been keen to relocate the Remembrance Garden in Kimberley Park and Steve finally achieved it.
We have been placing the wreaths and tributes in the beds around the War Memorial whilst the alterations and additions were underway. The previous Mayor provided a Remembrance Bench and there is a Poppy Bench adjacent.
On Friday the stone shown in the photo was put into place ready for the Saturday service, it marks the official move of the Remembrance Garden.
In the coming years as the flowers bloom and the new layout takes hold it will be a great memorial and a lovely place to visit.
