Summit in snow

I had a wonderful walk with my good friend Valeria, up a local mountain, finding fresh snow at the summit. In one direction we could see the storm brewing on Mont Blanc, with some ferocious winds. In the opposite direction we saw katabatic clouds in the distance. All around were many peaks we have climbed with other or together and many fabulous memories of great days in the mountains!
A ptarmigan startled us on the way up and we were surprised to see gentian, a cricket, a mosquito and butterfly.
Later in the afternoon M and I set off back to the Engadin, heading the bad weather warnings for tomorrow. The break has done us both good.
