Soapy Sam

Monument (in Abinger, Surrey) to Samuel Wilberforce, sometime Bishop of Winchester, known as Soapy Sam due his slipperiness in ecclesiastical arguments. Most famous for asking Charles Darwin's mate Thomas Huxley whether it was through his grandmother or his grandfather that Huxley considered himself descended from a monkey.
