Clocks
Used up some of today’s “extra” hour resetting all the clocks in the house (and garage) that don’t automatically update following the end of British Summer Time.
It used to be that this was a far more onerous task that started with dialling the Speaking Clock, using that to set my watch and then setting all the other clocks in the house. But in today’s digital age, iPhones, computers, cars, TV, DAB Radio - even the central heating controller, all update without any input from myself.
Apart from the cooker and microwave there are only those shown in the photo to do and, as they are all showing slightly different times anyway, it’s probably not a bad thing to be getting them all reading the same - for now, at least!
It was only whilst adjusting my watch that I wondered if kids are even taught how to tell the time using a clock face these days. Most of them seem to use their phones for everything so I wonder if they’re even bothered about owning a watch, let alone learning how to use one!
Still, won’t have to worry about changing them again until next March, though I’m sure there will be one somewhere that I will have forgotten to adjust. It’s now a question of whether I’ll come across it before the clocks go forward again!
