East coast mainline

Walking after the rain this afternoon we encountered a scene on the mainline in Joppa that resembled a scene from a “Thomas” movie! Two ballast trains were stationery, silent and driverless. On further investigations the London trains are going via Carlisle and buses are filling in between here and Berwick upon Tweed while track repairs are carried out.
