Wet Windy Windows

Had to put an alarm on last night to make sure we were up for 7.30 this morning!! It was still dark when it went off :-/ As I opened my eyes I I said " are we going on holiday?!!" Thats the only time we get up in the dark these days lol!!
Sadly not :-(

The fitters arrived at 8.30..... it was gloomy but not raining. I popped outside after an hour and a half, first window in, so took this shot as I wanted to see old v new, not that I could have done anything about it, if I hadnt liked what I saw. The old ones are leaded with red panes. So much lighter indoors without the lead, now making us question our train of thought regarding possible plantation shutters...??

The rain started mid morning and has not let up all day, the poor guys were absolutely drenched. They have done such a good job, really pleased with the end result. Hardly any mess, no plaster damage and all nicely finished off internally.

Boiled eggs n soldiers for lunch, then spent time clearing out some drawers in the study, amaziing how much "junk" you accumulate isnt it!

Popped out for half an hour late afternoon, needed a couple of things for tonights dinner, beef stroganoff with tagliatelli & sugarsnap peas.

Currently watching my team v Chelsea on tv, a boring game so far, lucky not to have conceded a penalty too! We might have to draw the curtains this evening now we dont have any blinds up......not something we normally do, but it does feel cosy!

Tomorrow is supposed to be dry, hope so, at least we can get out for a walk, clear the leaves and take a proper photo of the whole front of the house.

Looking forward to Strictly later, amongst other things and a glass of something too no doubt!
