Poverty

I've joined a maternal health team going out to a village up a mountain occupied by refugees who fled ISIS. I absolutely love it! Getting to help the pregnant ladies, getting to know them and hear their stories. They are so very poor. They can't afford to go to a doctor. They can't afford the bus fares to send their children to school in neighbouring villages (so the girls especially have no education) and they're producing a LOT of babies. Just up the road from them is the most humungous mansion complex for the Pres of this country. It's sickening and makes me so angry. The rampant corruption is horrendous and the gov is putting more and more ppl who speak out against them in prison or making them disappear. Sometimes I just don't know what to do with all this disparity and hardship and injustice. It's everywhere, people are really struggling.
