Breakfast serenade at the Flying Cat Coffee House

As if last night's musical activities were not enough, we indulged ourselves, this morning, with hot coffee, croissants, and breakfast sandwiches (pictured) while jazz guitarist Eric Skye regaled us with his beautiful melodies.

I'm finding that I am just LOVING the city of Portland, Oregon! So many lovely neighborhoods, restaurants, bookstores, and shops. So much character. I must give extra attention to this morning's venue, The Flying Cat Coffee Shop. Not only was the coffee and food superb, the customer service was like none I've experienced in recent memory. Hats off to the wonderful crew working there!

Along with the amazing food, coffee, ambience, and service, Eric Skye's casual, yet virtuosic guitar performance was mesmerizing. This artist was creating and extracting sounds out of his guitar like nothing I've heard before - and made it look simple. I requested he play 'Stella by Starlight', and he cheerfully obliged.
