Red Kite

Wow! What a thrill to see this beauty today! And not just one of them but six or more!

Today was a travel day. I passed lots of lovely autumn colours but there were few places to stop along the dual carriageway. However, my phone alerted me to a traffic jam ahead and suggested an alternative route. I'm so pleased it did :) I drove through beautiful countryside where I spotted a windmill which I thought would make a good blip. But then the red kites appeared. This one came so close overhead that I have several photos where I have clipped his wings. I was so excited that I am surprised I managed any half-decent shots. Two more in extras.

To those of you for whom a red kite sighting is mundane, I should mention that I've only ever seen one in Dorset where I live....
