Swans Up
We went for a long walk today, with Euphemias new scooter (not like the Euphlings stunt scooter!) being brilliant, rough and tough for her!
Down by the the beach at Whitesands, the cement works lake is host to many different species of wildfowl. These swans were startled by something as we passed, and thewy took to the air. It was only after a while that I realised they were making a goose-like honking noise and not at a swan-like whistling noise.
I'm not an expert, but I think probably whooper swans or maybe Bewicks. The proportions in flight look more like the rarer Bewick, but I'm only going by the pictures I've googled.
Big bird
Anyway, a great afternoon, and the longest walk Euphemia and I have had together for many years, thanks to Sterling rufty-tufty semi-off-road scooters.
