Phalaenopsis,Orchid,Experiment,shoot

There is not attempt at photography here it is merely a record shot for my own purposes.  A year or so ago somebody, probably Kanyl, told me they had read that if you cut the last flower off a spike it might throw new spikes.

I always feel it is a pity to spoil the last bloom so I have never tried it.  This flower spike had lost it last flower and started to wither.  So a week or ten days ago I cut it back to the first healthy buds.  Within a day or so they started to fatten.  Now the longest shoot is about 1 cm long.
