Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

In the pink!

After a bad night's sleep, I managed to get going pretty well today. I went back to the garage I was at yesterday as we've lost a key, not a car one thank goodness, it wasn't there though. Next I went to the car wash. I think it is a year since I was last there my wee polo looks much happier! Oh the way back I went to two different branches of Morrisons to buy some more crates to protect things which are stored in the garage. I also went to Poundland, which stocks my favourite coffee. It's one I discovered to be useful when travelling and I use it every day. It comes in a sachet and has powdered milk already added. It means when travelling all I need to be able to do is boil water. It's convenient and good!
I went to Timpson's too, the spare keys which I had cut some time ago, for the back door ( which is the key I lost) didn't work smoothly. The lovely man in the shop couldn't have been nicer and happily cut another two to replace them. They work beautifully now.
After lunch I completely flagged and ended up asleep for a couple of hours. I think it's a combination of not sleeping and post hospital. I also think that many of us are finding it hard to stay positive as things continue. Not only the Covid situation which we can see no end to, but the fear of what is ahead of us with regard to Brexit. I think I also missed having a proper celebration with Ali yesterday for her birthday, we're normally big on birthdays in our family. I guess we are all in need of a group hug!

Failing that, to cheer me up I took some pictures of some of the fuchsias which are still in flower in the garden - along with a clump of Joan's nerine in the centre. It never fails to make me smile and almost glows in the early evening dusk.

I'm glad we don't all have to wear black masks or blue surgical ones, mine are all bright and colourful. Keep going everyone, I'm going to try to be annoyingly cheerful throughout this! It's hard sometimes though.
