Diary of an Edinburgher

Autumn leaves?

We went out for breakfast today. We haven’t done that for absolutely ages, mostly because we enjoy our breakfasts at home, and much prefer a lunch out (perhaps with an all-day breakfast menu...)

However, one of our favourite cafes, SALT which shut down completely during the big lockdown, has now re-opened under new management, and a new website, and we wanted to check it out.

But it was SO BUSY at 10.30! So we walked on. Plan B - Project Coffee, also dog friendly. It was busy too, but we got a seat, and tucked in to huge breakfasts. JR had eggs benedict, and I had carrot fritters, with grilled halumi, two poached eggs, beetroot pickle and rocket. Yum yum.

As we walked over the Links, I could see that in a day or two, this will be a fabulous autumn scene, and anyway, the light was just flat, but it’ll have to do for today.

JR walked off her sumptuous breakfast by taking Archie out for another walk. In fact, they walked miles - 13,133 steps today.

I stayed home, because I was expecting a special delivery - and it arrived! Very Exciting. More of this tomorrow...
