Strengthening communities
Many thanks to @iaint who blipped these amazing things a couple of days ago. The selling point for me is that the company which you can find here started up when the founders learnt that 2.4 billion people didn’t have access to a toilet, roughly 40% of the global population and means that around 289,000 children under five die every year from diarrhoeal diseases caused by poor water and sanitation. Fifty percent of the company’s profits go to help build toilets across the developing globe. To date the company has donated £4.5m. They are also very colourful, and best of all I will no longer have to lug this essential item from the supermarket ever again.
The good weather returned today with it my energy, although I don’t think the two are related. In the afternoon I walked to the gym and had a swim, curtailed by more people than I felt comfortable sharing the lane. Objectively the risk is small but outwith my comfort zone. I’ll try again at a different time.
Returning home via Newlands Park I noticed this house just beside the park entrance on the junction with St Brides Road and Newlands Road – the display of many hued ivy particularly caught my attention and I thought it was worth an extra blip.
