We Once Had a View

We have lived in our apartment in Phnom Penh for 18 months now. We've always had an open view across the rooftops from our back door. It's nice to go out in the morning and feel the heat and see the light of the sun.

Looks like the view's going to change for ever as they've been dismantling the house behind. As you can see, they're now building vertical reinforced concrete pillars and brick walls in the new property which seems destined to grow and grow. We have no idea how high it will go but it seems certain to block our view. I suppose it's the price of development.

Now I wonder if they've got planning permission!!
