Christchurch and Arthur's Pass
We headed into Christchurch this morning. It was a strange place to be, there is still a lot of work going on from the hurricane 2 years ago- they have nearly finished taking down the buildings in the town centre that have to come down. There was a cool new shopping centre that has sprung up using shipping containers as the buildings, it was cool to walk around and had a lovely feel to it.
Then we headed west through the mountains towards the western coast of the South Island. This is the view from our campsite across the valley. It's stunning! We are right in the middle of what is the ski area in the winter at the moment. So very windy roads, lots of mountains and awesome views.
