only with a little rain

... . do you get a rainbow. We had a little rain for most of the day but late afternoon it improved enormously and we caught this rainbow over Grasmere.
We had planned a chilax day and hoped the forecast of a better afternoon allowed a trip out to Grasmere, which was all but deserted, a real contrast to yesterday. It was suggested to us that the mayhem yesterday was a combination of weekend sunshine and the threat of another lockdown.
The kids used the Brimstones spa for a full massage, they had booked their treat as soon as we arrived, the spa therapy pools were closed but they still enjoyed brunch in the chill rooms afterwards.
Todays extras include the dark skies over Grasmere, Langdale Boulders in the light light and a rather wet nuthatch.
Food tonight was a delivery from one of the restaurants on our like list, Jumble Room. They are too small to be able to open and so are keeping going by delivering their creations. I had a South African dish Dithoise chicken, stuffed with spiced apricot, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, almonds and honey. Roasted on a bed of butternut squash and kasha cashews, served with greens and a lime yoghurt drizzle. Plus a few parmesan frites just to ensure I was over full !!
