magical days
Days on the fells like today are not to be forgotten. Beautiful weather started at sunrise up at Blea Tarn where there were a dozen photographers and unfortunately no clouds, to go pink, and a breeze that made getting a reflection more difficult. Not complaining though it was a peaceful scene and the whole area is closed from tomorrow for filming so glad I went this morning.
Later in the day we drove up to Wrynose Pass and walked Pike O'Blisco the easier way from the 3 shires stone (which isn't there any more, apparently vandalised!). Enjoyed the sunshine all day especially as tomorrow is forecast rain.
The kids did a mega walk, 24000 steps. 900m climb to the summit of Bowfell around Angle Tarn, down Mickelden back to Old Dungeon Ghyll 6 hours later.
We have never seen so much traffic going through the valley in all the years we have been coming here.
Evening meal ws booked in Wainrights, the most popular food choice amongst us was Lamb Henry which is legendary there. At 9pm we were the only ones left in the pub as it is strictly book only and the tables, now with screens, are so sparsely spread out. So sad that whilst there are so many people around the establishments are so strictly applying Covid rules that they are getting a fraction of the custom they normally see. Another reminder of the difficult times.
