Waxwing

Now, I'm not very good at wildlife photography. I blame a lack of patience and a lack of equipment. But when I saw this beautiful bird (and his friends) making themselves available to be photographed, I could not resist. I counted 18 individuals in the one tree.

I got very excited snapping away at these guys - I didn't know what they were. And they seemed very keen to be photographed whilst nibbling these new leaf shoots. The RSPB Bird Identifier site came up trumps. Apparently they should be getting ready to fly to Scandinavia any time now.
