Last slice

Its my Birthday tomorrow - just one more to go til I have yet another one of those big 0's on the end - still, its only a number, and I embrace middle old age with as much enthusiasm as I did when I was in kindergarten - hungry for new adventure, spills, thrills and even skills ?!

Tomorrow, my Birthday, T & I are going down south to stay with my #2 daughter and partner and my soul mate, Granddaughter Lily (now two and three quarters; I'm well past retirement (but still working) and very possibly my sell by date, but Lily and I have lots in common)!! Hopefully #1 daughter will come to join us on Sunday. Its going to be a great weekend.

The last slice: Its a tradition at work that someone makes cakes for you on your birthday. Luckily it was Caroline's turn (she's one of the best cake makers) and she made a splendid coffee 'n' walnut cake for others and a toffee/fudge meringue for me (gluten-free), but I was kind and allowed others to share. I had one two large slice(s) this morning so I'll probably take the last slice home for Mr. T.
